Japanese Dance and Acting Summer Camp
(two sections: ages 2-5 and ages 6-11) No prior knowledge of Japanese or experience in dance or acting is necessary. Campers will learn dance, acting, and songs in Japanese. Our themes will draw from Japanese folktales and Studio Ghibli movies, as well as K-pop music (in Japanese). Throughout the day, we will have a variety of activities in Japanese, along with plenty of playtime and breaks. The children will give a performance on the last day of camp. More details will be shared as the camp start date approaches. We are thrilled to have Kate Barnes teaching dance and acting for this fun new camp. Kate has been a dance and acting teacher for the past 18 years, and has over 20 years of experience performing in live dance and theatre productions. She is excited to be working with Blue Moon campers, and fusing the study of the Japanese language and the performing arts. Camp schedules: Ages 2-5: 6/1~5, 9am - noon Ages 6-11: 6/8~12, 9am - 3pm Tuition: 6/1 ~ 5: $400/week 6/8 ~ 12: $600/week ★ Early drop-off between 8 and 9am ($15/day) and aftercare until 5pm ($15/hour) are available. If you are interested in early drop-off and/or aftercare for your child, please let us know in the questions/comments section of the registration form. ★ Please note: campers will be responsible for bringing their own snack, and if they stay past noon, they will be responsible for bringing both snack and lunch. ----------------------- Japanese "Oishii" (Yummy) Cooking Summer Camp (ages 4 and up) No prior knowledge of Japanese is necessary. Would your child like to learn to make delicious Japanese food from scratch? Enroll them in our Oishii Camp and learn how to make Japanese favorites! We will also learn traditional Japanese dining etiquette, table manners, and how to use chopsticks. Campers should be ready to follow instructions and safely handle basic cooking tools such as a plastic knife. Camp schedules: 6/15~19 (WAITLIST), 7/13~17 (WAITLIST), 7/20~24, 9am - 1pm If you would like to sign up your child for a week with a waitlist, we will let you know as soon as a spot opens up. Japanese Summer Camp
(ages 2 and up) No prior knowledge of Japanese is required. We will explore the world of Japanese entertainment! Campers will be divided into groups based on age and ability, and have fun learning about everything from traditional forms of entertainment like Kabuki and folk songs to comedy and J-pop music. The children will give a performance at the end of each week. More details will be shared as the camp start date approaches. Camp schedules: 6/22~26, 6/29~7/3, 7/6~10 Ages 2 and up: Half day (9 am - 12 pm) Ages 4 to 10: Half day (9 am - 12 pm) or Full day (9 am - 5 pm). The full-day option is only available for children 4 and up who no longer nap. Tuition: Half day: 1 week: $385; 2 weeks: $710; 3 weeks: $1,050 Full day: 1 week: $560; 2 weeks: $1,020; 3 weeks: $1,450 ★ Early drop-off between 8am and 9am is available for $15/day. Through conversation, singing, and games, we will focus on building confidence speaking Japanese while having fun with music and pop culture.
